(Bank Planner) Eligibility For  Bank Recruitment Exams


(I) AGE
(As on date specified in the notification)

(1) Public Sector Banks: PO — 20 to 30 years Clerical — 20 to 28 years
(2) Regional Rural Banks: For Officer Scale- III ——— Below 40 years

For Officer Scale- II———— Above 21 years and below 32 years
For Officer Scale- I ———— Above 18 years and below 28 years
For Office Assistant ———— Between 18 years and 28 years

(3) SBI and SBI Associate Banks: PO — 21 to 30 years Clerical — 18 to 28 years

Note – Relaxation of age as per rules for reserved candidates.

(II) MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
(As on date specified in the notification)

(1) Public Sector Banks: PO — A degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Clerical —- A degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

(2) Regional Rural Banks: Office Assistant (Clerk) - Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent

Officer Scale-I —- Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent
Officer Scale-II (GBO) —- Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with minimum 50% aggregate. Experience — Two years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

Officer Scale-II
(Specialist Officers)

(i) Chartered Accountant - Certified Associate ship (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. Experience —One Year
(ii) Marketing Officer- Post Graduate Degree in Marketing from a recognized university. Experience —One Year
(iii) Treasury Manager- Certified Associate ship (CA) from Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or Post graduate Degree in Finance from a recognized university/ institution.

Experience – One Year

(iv) Agricultural Officer - Degree in Agriculture/ Horticulture/ Dairy Science/ Animal Husbandry/ Forestry/ Veterinary Science/ Agricultural/Engineering/ Pisciculture or allied specializations or its equivalent with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate. Experience – Two Years

Officer Scale-III — Degree in any discipline from a recognized University or its equivalent with minimum 50% aggregate. Experience — 5 years as an officer in a Bank or Financial Institution.

(3) SBI and SBI Associate Banks: PO — A degree in any discipline from a recognized University or any equivalent qualification recognized as such by the Central Government.

Clerical — Minimum 12th Standard (10 + 2) or equivalent qualification thereof with a minimum of 60% marks
OR
Diploma Course passed after 10th Standard with a minimum of 60% marks
OR
A degree (Graduation level) from recognized university with a minimum of 40% marks Note – Relaxation of age as per rules for reserved candidates.

(III) COMPUTER LITERACY
Some banks insist that the candidate should posses working knowledge of computers before joining the bank and few banks mention that the desired computer skills may be acquired within six months of joining the bank.

If a candidate has not studied computers as one of the subjects in school/college, the candidate must possess a valid diploma (basic applications) in computers.

(IV) LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:

(1) Public Sector Banks: Clerical —— Since clerical cadre recruitment would be on State-wise basis, the candidate may also be required to possess proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT for which vacancies he wishes to apply.

(2) Regional Rural Banks : For Office Assistants (Clerks) and Scale-I Officers —— Candidates are required to possess proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT in which RRB is located and must have passed “local language” as one of the subjects at Matriculation/Xth Standard

(3) SBI and SBI Associate Banks Clerical —— Since clerical cadre recruitment would be on State-wise basis, the candidate may also be required to possess proficiency in the Official Language of the State/UT for which vacancies he wishes to apply.

As every bank is free to decide the eligibility criteria for its officers or clerks, the candidates must read the notification carefully and ensure their eligibility before making an application.
