Special Recruitment Drive to fill up SC/ST backlog vacancies in the post of Assistant under South Zone

Applications are invited from Indian Citizens belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes for appointment to fill up backlog vacancies in the post of Assistant for performing the duties of Assistant as well as of Cashier in Branch Offices of the Corporation under the Divisions/Zone noted below against the said vacancies.

2. Coimbatore: 23 posts
3. Emakulam: 03 posts
4. Kozhikode: 0 1 post
5. Madurai: 15 posts
6. Thanjavur: 06 posts
7. Tirunelveli: 01 post
8. Vellore: 17 posts

Age( As on  1-12-2012):

Should not be less than 18 years and more than 35 years i.e born between 02/12/1977 & 01/12/1994.

Educational Qualification:

• Graduate of a recognized university.
• In case of Disabled Ex-servicemen and other Ex-servicemen belonging to SC/ST who have put in at least 10 years service in Armed Forces, the minimum qualification shall be pass in HSC (XII Std. of 10+2+3 pattern).Matriculate Ex-servicemen who have completed 15 years service in the Armed Forces or Non-Matriculate Ex-servicemen who have completed 15 years service in the Armed Forces and have also passed the Indian Army Special Certificate Examination or corresponding Air Force, Navy certificate examinations shall be eligible to apply.

Pay Scale & Emoluments:

• Basic pay Rs.7640–440(1)-8080-480(2)-9040-540(5)-11740-625(2)-12990-760(3)-15270-790(2)–16850-840(5)-21050 (under revision) and other allowances plus City Compensatory Allowance, House Rent Allowance, wherever admissible as per rules.

• Two additional increments shall be payable to Graduates on their appointment as Assistant. Total emoluments inclusive of all allowances payable at Metro Cities like Chennai are around Rs.16150/- per month for graduates

Selection Procedure:

Applicants will have to appear for a written examination on Sunday, the 17th February 2013, at the centres that shall be allotted to them at their own expenses. The written examination will consist of two Papers:

• Paper-I: A rank determining Test of Objective Type
  (i) Numerical ability
  (ii) Reasoning ability
  (iii) General Knowledge/Awareness
  (iv) English language

• Paper - II: A qualifying Test of Descriptive Type
  (i) (Precis & Letter writing) in English
  (ii) (Essay writing) in Tamil (for State of Tamilnadu), in Malayalam (for State of Kerala)

How to Apply:

• SC/ST Candidates only satisfying the above eligibility conditions shall submit their Application in the format given below which shall be either handwritten in bold capitals or typewritten on foolscap size paper only.

• Candidates have to apply in a prescribed format either in hand written/typed along with the attested copies of SSC, HSC, Graduation, Caste, PWD, two Self Addressed envelopes size 23 x 12 cm duly affixed by Rs. 5/- stamps, 2 recent photographs, self addressed post card ( If Acknowledgement is needed) and super scribe the envelope as “Application for the post of Assistant” and send it to the Senior Divisional Officer, LIC of India, Divisional Office to the related address of the division as mentioned in the notification on or before 17-01-2013.

• Application form not in accordance with the prescribed form or incomplete / unsigned form or received without attested copies of the Certificates mentioned above shall not be considered.
