Shreyas Gramin Bank, sponsored by Canara Bank came into existence on 1st June 2006 after amalgamation of three RRBs i.e. Aligarh Gramin Bank, Etah Gramin Bank & Jamuna Gramin Bank vide Govt. of India Notification No. F. No. : 1/4/2006-RRB (i) dated 1st June 2006.

Further, vide Govt.of India Notification No.1/7/2007-RRB dated 22nd January 2008, a new district viz. Mathura has also been allotted to the Bank. Thus, the Bank is operating in seven Districts viz Aligarh, Mahamaya Nagar (Hathras), Etah, Manyawar Kanshiram Nagar, Agra, Mathura and Firozabad.

The Bank is authorised to undertake all types of banking transactions prescribed under Section 5 (b) of Banking Regulation Act - 1949.

The establishment of the Regional Rural Banks was a historic step towards providing banking facilities to hitherto neglected Rural Sector in India for its allround development. Shreyas Gramin Bank with its motto 'Satat Prayas Gramya Vikas' is committed to improve the living standards of common man in the rural hinterland. The Bank believes in enlightened community orientation and total commitment for customer satisfaction. The bank has come up as a large and effective Banking Institution in Aligarh, Hathras, Etah, Manyawar Kanshiram Nagar, Agra, Mathura & Firozabad Districts with its wide network of 203 Branches.The Bank has opened 03 new Branches, 03 Service Branches and 01 extension counter during the financial year 2010-11 to reach the total of 203 branches.
