SBH sign MoU with National Insurance Company

The State Bank of Hyderabad (SBH) has signed an MoU with National Insurance Company Limited for extending Pradhan Mantri Surakhsa Bima Yojana to its account holders.

The scheme is available across all its 1,821 branches at a cost of Rs 12 per policy per year. All the savings bank account holders in the age group of 18-70 years are eligible to join the scheme to avail of a risk cover of Rs 2 lakh, a bank release said.
MIB directs BARC not to issue any rating until get register

Even as stakeholders of the television broadcasting sector are getting used to the new television ratings system under the Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC), the latter has been dealt a blow by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB). The MIB has sent a letter to the BARC ratings system executives, asking them not to release data till the agency is registered with the ministry.

This puts a spanner in the works as the television broadcasting sector was finally getting a taste of the new ratings system. Moreover, in anticipation of the new system, stakeholders have already unsubscribed from the television audience measurement services of TAM Media Research.

With an aim to transform education with the use of technology, Microsoft India has launched Edu-Cloud, a cloud computing-based offering that will enhance digital learning and teaching in schools and higher education institutions.

Sri Chaitanya Schools is one of the first K-12 education networks to adopt Microsoft India’s Edu-Cloud for its teachers and students in 80 schools. Teachers and students of Sri Chaitanya Schools will use 14,000 Windows-powered tablets to access rich, interactive and relevant content from the Microsoft cloud to make learning and teaching more engaging and productive.

India has scored poorly in the Motherhood Index Rank standing at 140 out of 179 countries. Norway rose to the top of the list while Somalia remained last for the second year in a row in Save the Children's "State of the World's Mothers 2015.

The five indicators in the 2015 Mothers' Index of 179 countries are the lifetime risk of maternal death; children's well-being as measured by their under-5 mortality rate; educational status, as measured by children's expected years of formal schooling; economic status, as measured by gross national income per capita; and political status, measured by women's participation in national government.
