Yes Bank decided to infuse USD 1-bn capital through ADR

  • Yes Bank on Monday preferred to raise money through an ADR issue under its USD 1-billion capital infusion plan next fiscal.

  • The Mid-sized private sector lender stressed that the court order in a case involving its promoters will not impact these plans.

  • The bank has its shareholders’ nod to raise up to USD 1 billion either through an ADR or a qualified institutional placement (QIP) issue.

  • Yes Bank’s larger rival HDFC Bank was the last lender to have done an ADR, when it successfully raised Rs 10,000 crore earlier this year.

Rahane to lead India in Zimbabwe tour

  • India’s rising batting star Ajinkya Rahane will lead the 15-man squad for the Zimbabwe tour, with several senior players including MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli being rested, BCCI officials said at a press conference on Monday.

  • Taking note of the fatigue factor, the selectors have also rested Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina, Rohit Sharma, R Ashwin and Umesh Yadav.

  • The Indian team just concluded a disappointing tour of Bangladesh, losing the ODI series 1-2, completing seven months of continuous cricket.

  • The board decided to send a second string team, giving the younger players a chance in the tour comprising three ODIs and two T20s.

  • Of all India's young batsmen, Rahane has been the most consistent in the tough away tours since December 2013.

  • He has scored hundreds in New Zealand, England and Australia. He narrowly missed getting one in South Africa (he was out for 96).

Jwala,Ponnappa duo wins Canada Open

  • After winning the Canada Open women's doubles title with Jwala Gutta on Sunday, Indian shuttler Ashwini Ponnappa cited consistency as the key to their success, saying the victory is a big boost ahead of the prestigious World Championship in August.

  • The 2010 Commonwealth Games gold-medallist pair of Ashwini and Jwala defeated the top-seeded Dutch pair of Eefje Muskens and Selena Piek 21-19 21-16 to clinch the US$ 50,000 Canada Open Grand Prix tournament.

  • India's best doubles pair, Ashwini and Jwala, won as many as four bronze medals last year but a title win has eluded them and Ashwini said it was nice to annex a trophy after a long time.

  • Ashwini and Jwala had taken a break post the London Olympics and this is their first title since their reunion after the 2012 Games.

  • The duo trained separately for some time but now with the World Championship round the corner, they will once again start training together.
