IDRBT, the premier Institute of Banking Technology in the country, spearheads efforts in providing state-of-the-art technologies for the Banking and Financial Sector. The Institute interfaces Research and Development, Academics, Executive Training and Best Practices.

The Institute has been offering a Ph.D programme in collaboration with the University of Hyderabad (A Central University) since 1999. The NAAC has awarded “A” Grade with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.89 on 4.0 scale to the University.

IDRBT has been recently granted Associate Institution Status by the University of Hyderabad for undertaking research independently at IDRBT for the award of Ph.D. Degree in the areas of Computer Sciences and Information Technology.

IDRBT now invites application for its full-time Ph.D Programme in Computer Science and Information Technology [with focus on Banking Technology] for the session starting in January 2012.

The eligibility criteria for the Ph.D programme is as under:

Qualification: Masters Degree in any Engineering / Technology; OR M.Phil in Mathematics or Statistics or  Electronics; OR B.E. / B.Tech OR Master’s Degree in Computer Applications / Mathematics / Statistics / Electronics / Information Systems / Internet Technology / Geo-Informatics / Bio- Informatics with a minimum of 60% marks in any of the above stated qualifications (a relaxation of 5% marks is provided to SC/ST candidates). All educational qualifications must have been obtained from recognized universities/ institutions in India or abroad. If grades are awarded instead of marks, candidates should clearly indicate their numerical equivalent.

Fellowship

 The selected Research Scholars would be paid a monthly stipend of Rs.14,000/- per month during the first and second year and Rs.15,000/- per month during the subsequent years.

The fellowship is normally tenable for three (3) years. The Institute is in the process of revising the Research Fellowship and it is likely to be enhanced.

Selection Process:

The Selection Process for admission to the Ph.D Programme would consist of:

• A Written Examination on December 19, 2011
• Personal Interview (only for the candidates qualifying the written examination) on December 20, 2011
