About Bank:

Uttarbanga Kshetriya Gramin Bank, a Regional Rural Bank sponsored by Central Bank of India, was established on the 7th March 1977 under the Provision of Section 3(2) of RRB Act 1976 [ 21 of 1976] with equity participation of Government of India (50%), Central Bank of India (35%) and Government of West Bengal (15%). The Bank has been operating in three districts of West Bengal namely, Coochbehar, Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling with its Head Office at Coochbehar.

Uttarbanga Kshetriya Gramin Bank has developed into a multifaceted Bank dedicated to serve the cross section of populace in general and the needy, deserving and excluded people in particular. Patroned by Central Bank of India, the Bank has grown from strength to strength.

The Bank stepped into leveraging technologies in many areas for providing the advantages of IT based solutions to it’s clients in particular and people in general. The entire Branch network of the Bank has migrated to CBS platform.

During the year 2011-12, the Bank included all 336 allotted villages having population of over 2000 for financial inclusion. The bank has put sincere efforts to carry out its responsibility conforming to the policy of the Government for extending finances and financial services to Marginal Farmers, Landless labourers, Share Cropers & Pattaholders, Oral lessees, ethnic minority and socially excluded groups, Women and others.

During the financial year 2011-12 an outreach program has been conducted by the Reserve Bank of India at Uttar Sishubari village under service area of our Sishubarihat Branch in Jalpaiguri District. The Executive Director, Reserve Bank of India and the Executive Director, Central Bank of India were the eminent personalities amongst the distinguished officials. The programme was a grand success.

The first ever visit of an Executive Director, Central Bank of India to our Bank Head Office has taken place during the year 2011-12.
