North Malabar Gramin Bank is one of the 84 Regional Rural Banks operating in the country established under Regional Rural Banks Act 1976. The ownership is vested with the Govt of India, Govt of Kerala and Syndicate Bank. In the course of 30 years of existence, NMGB has established itself as a fundamentally strong and financially viable Regional Rural Banks in the country.

The Bank was established on the 12 th of December 1976 with its Headquarters in Kannur (Kerala - India). The Bank currently has 185 branches with 2 Extension Counters viz, 79 branches and 1 extension counter in Kannur, 49 branches in Kasargod district, 9 branches and 1 extension counter in Waynad district, 16 branches in Ernakulam, 14 branches in Kottayam district, 8 branches in Alappuzha district and 10 branches in Kollam district.
