IBPS (PO) New Pattern Analysis

Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has changed the exam pattern for Probationary Officer (PO) 2015 . As per the notification on IBPS website, it has been decided by the concern authority to hold two-tier examinations for recruitment of PO/MT and from CWE-V onwards. All the candidates who successfully register themselves under CWE PO/MT-V will be called for Preliminary Examinations. Based on the performance in the preliminary examination, certain number of candidates will be shortlisted for each of these examinations. The short listed candidates will be called for Main Examinations.

The marks obtained in the Preliminary examination will not be considered for preparing the final merit list and the marks obtained in the Main Examination will only be considered for short listing for interview. After this change Tier I will be a easier and more number of candidates will be qualified in this stage. Difficulty level in tier II will be high. So, by including both kind of papers, it will be ensured that the candidates, who can handle both kinds of situations are qualified. That means only serious and dedicated candidates will be able to crack this exam. The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in interview will not be less than 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates). The weightage (ratio) of CWE (Main exam) and interview will be 80:20 respectively.
